Last week, we worked on developing four different narrative pieces of writing, focusing on a specific time period in your life ("When I Was...), an object, a changed relationship, and a milestone event. Over the course of this week, we will be using this writing, along with other important aspects of your childhood, to narrow down a topic and write a personal narrative that we will continue to refine over the course of the next two weeks.
For this week's blog post, you will post the rough draft to that narrative. Remember to substitute fake names or be more general in nature if information in your narrative is too personally revealing. (Example: change your name or the name of the mall that you are referencing)

Patriot's Pen Assignment
Last week, we began working on a rough draft submission for the Patriot's Pen essay contest, which is run by the Veterans of Foreign Wars association. The topic of this year's entry is "Are you proud of your country?" The final copy of this essay must be between 300-400 words. This week's blog post is your actual essay submission (minus any personal information that you might have chosen to include).

All About Me Assignment
For this post, you will write a paragraph about yourself. Tell the reader who you are by FIRST NAME ONLY. Do not state the town that you live in. Identify your interests and hobbies. Without listing your friends' names, explain what you and your friends like to do together. Explain what you hope to accomplish in middle school. List your future goals--college, career, etc. Before you post, make sure that nothing that you plan on posting is too personally revealing in nature.
